Randstad reveals a record year

Global recruitment agency Randstad Holding has reported a record year, with a 23% growth in revenue reaching €8.2bn (£5.5bn), compared with €6.5bn (£4.4bn) in 2005.

Gross profit for the year rose 18% to  €1.7bn (£1.2bn), compared with €1.4bn (£939.6m) in 2005. Operating profit for the year was £283.3m (€283.3m), compared with €290.9m (£194.5m) in 2005, an increase of 46%.

Randstad chief executive Ben Noteboom says: “As a result of our fast growth, 2006 has been a record year in Ranstad’s history. Highlights include important growth in geographies where we have a recent presence like Poland and Asia, and being the largest job creator in Germany.”

The company also announced fourth quarter results which saw revenue grow 18% to €2.2bn (£1.5bn) in 2006, compared with €1.8bn (£1.2bn) in 2005. Gross profit was €483.5m (£323.3m) in the fourth quarter of 2006, compared with €398.4m (£266.4m) in 2005.
