JOB BOARDS

Published: 12 July 2007

JobServe has introduced several major changes to its job searching website to improve responses to the job advertisements published on its site.

The changes include a distance indicator bar to show how close a job is to the candidate’s chosen location, so when towns or cities are specified they can refine or expand the radius.

Other new features include reduced duplicate applications with a greyed out Applied button on any job a jobseeker has already applied for.

Robbie Cowling, managing director and founder of JobServe, says: “I am really excited about this upgrade and I have to thank all of our users because many of the new and improved features have been as a result of their feedback and suggestions.

“The most popular request from the job seeker was to include a salary or contract rate search refiner. Pay is an issue for a significant number of workers many are disappointed with what they earn or how much of a pay rise they received – so I guess that it was not too surprising to learn that in feedback to us, jobseekers said they will apply for jobs where this information is displayed.”

The website also features new choice of search method to cater for all types of jobseekers.
