Recruiters still needed in construction sector

McCall has noticed lately that some of the larger technical recruitment agencies have let some staff go (recruiter.co.uk, ‘Construction recruitment’, 25 September).

However, we have seen a rise in the market of the smaller companies recruiting more specialist recruiters and have aggressive plans for expansion, despite the credit crunch. These clients tell me they are always on the look out for good strong billers. As Simon Middelboe said: “You can never have enough good people. If you have 10 brilliant people, you can always have 11.”

We have noticed more companies are looking to recruit in the technical and construction market — McCall is always receiving enquiries from new and existing clients looking for good quality recruiters; candidates and clients alike tend to come to us because we have a history, which is useful in a market like this…
