Baa-ing to the Nanny State of Europe
With reference to your article ‘Working hours’, (recruiter.co.uk, 6 November), as grown adults we should all have the choice of how many hours we work each week. This is a wonderful example of Nanny Europe interfering with the way we all work.
I passionately believe that we should have the right to choose and be able retain this choice. How many times have we all done a job that for short periods of time has meant we have worked more than 48 hours in a week? And what happens to all those students who need to work lots of hours in the holidays to pay for their studies?
I have always been a fervent supporter of the EU; now, however, I am now deeply disillusioned.
